Overview

Lead the development and analysis of marine propellers and related products with a focus on CFD and STAR-CCM+ in a production environment. You will drive hydrodynamic performance, durability, and validation from concept to production within a cross functional engineering team. This role emphasizes simulation driven design and continuous improvement in marine product development.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and optimize marine propellers and related products from concept through production, delivering performance improvements
  • 2Lead CFD analysis using STAR-CCM+ as the technical expert for hydrodynamics and simulation driven design
  • 3Perform hydrodynamic, structural, and durability assessments with FEA and CFD methods
  • 4Develop and implement advanced CAE methodologies and automation tools using Python or MATLAB
  • 5Execute 1 way and 2 way coupled CFD/FEA analyses to validate designs
  • 6Collaborate with design, manufacturing, testing, and product development teams through the lifecycle
  • 7Coordinate on-water testing, product validation, and performance evaluation
  • 8Analyze test data to improve simulation accuracy and predictive capability
  • 9Identify opportunities for engineering process improvements and development efficiency
  • 10Support optimization efforts through simulation driven design and formal optimization techniques

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Marine, or related engineering discipline
  • 23+ years in product development within consumer, industrial, marine, automotive, aerospace, or related industries
  • 3Expert-level CFD proficiency with extensive hands on STAR-CCM+ experience
  • 4Demonstrated ability to develop, validate, and interpret complex CFD models
  • 5Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, hydrodynamics, turbulence modeling, and simulation best practices
  • 6Experience applying FEA to product development
  • 7Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, CAESES, or similar
  • 8Experience working in cross functional engineering teams
  • 9Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • 10Willingness to travel as needed
