Behavioral Technician & Paraeducator
Overview
Support students with behavioral needs across Wayne County schools as a Behavioral Technician or Paraeducator. You will implement Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) strategies in 1:1 or classroom settings, guiding students from pre-K through high school toward their behavioral goals. Join a collaborative team of educators and clinicians, with access to Last Mile Training for RBT certification and ongoing administrative support. What You'll Do6
- 1Provide 1:1 behavioral support to a student, accompanying them to classes and ensuring they stay on task toward their ABA goals.
- 2Support a classroom teacher as a general aide, assisting multiple students as needs arise throughout the day.
- 3Communicate calmly and clearly with students, teachers, and parents to reinforce positive behaviors and learning outcomes.
- 4Adapt to dynamic classroom environments, shifting focus between students and tasks as directed by the teacher.
- 5Maintain physical stamina for standing, walking, sitting for extended periods, and lifting up to 40 pounds when needed.
- 6Collaborate with the teaching team to implement behavioral intervention plans and track student progress.
Requirements6
- 1CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- 2Associate's degree preferred, but relevant experience accepted.
- 3Experience in childcare, ABA, or school settings preferred.
- 4Strong assessment skills to evaluate student behavior and progress.
- 5Passion for supporting students with special needs.
- 6Team-oriented approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
Salary Insight
$35 - $46k per year
