Behavior Specialist, BCBA & Special Education
Overview
Own the development and execution of data-driven behavior intervention plans across 3-4 school sites in the Andover, Minnesota area. This BCBA or Tier 3/4 Special Education licensed role pairs you with a team of behavior specialists and a Special Education Administrator to build inclusive learning environments. You will conduct functional behavior assessments, design individualized education plans, and train staff on positive interventions. What You'll Do8
- 1Design and lead behavioral consultations for education teams, focusing on positive, data-informed interventions.
- 2Conduct functional behavior assessments and write individualized education plans (IEPs) for students across multiple sites.
- 3Build and deliver staff training on behavioral strategies, ensuring consistent implementation district-wide.
- 4Monitor and adjust behavior support plans based on student progress data, refining approaches as needed.
- 5Oversee positive behavioral interventions and supports, aligning with district initiatives and compliance standards.
- 6De-escalate crisis situations and apply restrictive procedures when necessary to ensure student safety.
- 7Document all interventions and outcomes, meeting district, state, and federal guidelines.
- 8Serve 3-4 school locations as assigned, coordinating schedules and travel effectively.
Requirements7
- 1BCBA certification or a Tier 3 or 4 Special Education teaching license required.
- 2Strong background implementing positive behavior interventions and supports.
- 3Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and writing IEPs.
- 4Ability to consult and train staff on behavioral recommendations.
- 5Calm, adaptable, and effective in crisis management situations.
- 6Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) do not qualify for this role.
- 7Full-time, onsite availability Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 4:10 pm, starting August 25, 2026 through June 10, 2027.
