Barista Cashier, Café & POS Systems
Overview
Join fleur de cocoa as a Barista Cashier and own the customer experience from order to delivery in our vibrant San Jose café. You will prepare coffee beverages, manage cash and card transactions via Aloha POS or Micros POS, and keep the café spotless and welcoming. Working alongside a close-knit team, we train the right person from the ground up. This role offers a clear path to growth in food service and retail operations, with a focus on speed, accuracy, and genuine hospitality.
What You'll Do7
- 1Greet customers warmly and take orders with precision, using Aloha POS or Micros POS to ensure accuracy.
- 2Prepare and serve a range of coffee beverages, teas, and light food items, following food safety standards.
- 3Process cash, credit, and debit transactions, handle payments, and give correct change with basic math skills.
- 4Maintain a clean and organized café area, including prep stations, counters, and seating, per food safety guidelines.
- 5Manage multiple orders simultaneously during peak hours, prioritizing prompt service and quality.
- 6Restock supplies, monitor product freshness, and communicate inventory needs to team members in real time.
- 7Resolve customer questions or concerns on the spot, ensuring a positive experience that drives repeat visits.
Requirements7
- 1Previous barista experience or coffee industry background preferred, though we provide full paid training.
- 2Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a strong plus.
- 3Proven customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor and clear communication.
- 4Ability to handle cash accurately and perform retail math, including quick and correct change.
- 5Knowledge of food safety standards, food preparation techniques, and proper handling in a café or retail setting.
- 6Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment while keeping close attention to detail.
- 7Basic math skills for cashiering and inventory tasks are essential.
