Azure Technical Lead, Cloud Architecture & .NET
Overview
You will own the technical direction for a major Azure migration and modernization initiative in Dallas, TX. This contract role demands deep expertise in Azure services like App Services, Functions, Front Door, WAF, Storage, Azure SQL, and PostgreSQL. You will lead a team of developers and architects, defining service boundaries and integration patterns. You will drive the shift to API-first design and OIDC-based security. This is a hands-on leadership role where your decisions shape a large-scale enterprise platform.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and implement Azure cloud architectures using App Services, Functions, Front Door, and WAF to deliver high-availability solutions.
- 2Lead the migration of legacy workloads to Azure SQL and PostgreSQL, ensuring performance and security.
- 3Architect and deliver AKS clusters for containerized microservices, working closely with DevOps teams.
- 4Define service-to-service security with OIDC and JWT tokens, implementing robust authentication and authorization.
- 5Build and maintain .NET/C# backend services, with working fluency in Angular for frontend integration.
- 6Drive API-first design, versioning, and contract management across all services and their consumers.
- 7Establish messaging and eventing patterns using Azure Service Bus or Event Grid to decouple critical components.
- 8Mentor and guide developers on best practices for cloud-native development and architectural patterns.
Requirements8
- 15+ years as a technical lead or architect with a focus on Azure cloud architecture.
- 2Hands-on experience with Azure App Services, Functions, Front Door, WAF, Storage, Azure SQL, and PostgreSQL.
- 3Strong background in AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) with container orchestration and microservices.
- 4In-depth knowledge of .NET/C# and the ability to code review and guide developers.
- 5Working fluency with Angular including component boundaries and integration patterns.
- 6Proven experience with API-first design, service-to-service security, and OIDC/JWT.
- 7Experience with messaging/eventing systems like Azure Service Bus or Event Grid.
- 8Familiarity with contract versioning and backward compatibility in distributed systems.
