AWS Cloud Engineer Job in Arlington, VA | Leidos
Overview
You will own the engineering and operations of a mission-critical AWS cloud environment for DISA's CESO program, serving a rapidly expanding DoD and IC community. You'll design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation, and drive continuous integration and deployment. This role is 100% on-site in Arlington, VA, and requires an active TS/SCI clearance.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design and build AWS cloud solutions using CloudFormation, EC2, ELB, RDS, Lambda, and S3 to support secure information sharing.
- 2Automate system deployments and operational tasks with Python, Bash, and PowerShell to reduce manual operations.
- 3Configure and manage core AWS services including VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, KMS, and Config.
- 4Operate and improve reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and continual service improvement.
- 5Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible for deployment orchestration and security configuration.
- 6Document and deliver automated testing approaches for integration, regression, and acceptance testing.
- 7Produce technical documentation including build guides, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- 8Manage integration and testing environments on both classified and unclassified infrastructure, staging new services before production deployment.
- 9Support patching, logging, vulnerability scanning, and compliance tracking for all environments.
- 10Participate in Agile ceremonies and use Jira for task tracking.
Requirements9
- 1Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a CI Poly.
- 2BA/BS and 8-12 years of experience in Information Technology.
- 34+ years of hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Technologies and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
- 44+ years implementing Amazon C2S enabled architectures with Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, EC2, ELB, RDS, Lambda, Docker, Git, and S3.
- 54+ years building end-to-end solutions on AWS using Python, Ruby, Java, or PHP and the AWS SDK.
- 6Experience with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration management (i.e., CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, Bitbucket).
- 7IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
- 8Prior experience with DISA and mission partner support is preferred.
- 9Experience or familiarity with Citrix VDI/VDA is preferred.
