Overview
You will own vehicle diagnostics and repair at Trowell & Turner Automotive, a family-owned Dallas shop operating for 75+ years. Diagnose and fix engines, suspensions, and electronic systems across domestic and import makes and models. Work alongside a seasoned team in a stable, customer-focused environment. This role offers hands-on variety and ASE certification support.
What You'll Do9
- 1Diagnose and repair engine, suspension, and electronic system faults on a wide range of vehicles using diagnostic scanners and multimeters.
- 2Perform brake jobs, oil changes, and tire rotations to maintain vehicle safety and performance.
- 3Inspect and test electrical systems including batteries, starters, and alternators to identify root causes.
- 4Communicate repair options and costs to customers, ensuring transparent and trusted service.
- 5Document all work performed in the shop's service management software for accurate records.
- 6Maintain a clean and organized work bay, following OSHA safety guidelines.
- 7Collaborate with service advisors to prioritize and complete jobs within promised timelines.
- 8Stay current on OEM updates and technical bulletins for various makes and models.
- 9Assist with road tests and alignments to verify repairs and ensure quality.
Requirements9
- 15+ years of automotive technician or mechanic experience.
- 2Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- 3ASE certification preferred, not required.
- 4Proficiency with OBD-II scanners and diagnostic software.
- 5Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
- 6Comfortable working on domestic and import vehicles.
- 7Own tools and toolbox.
- 8High school diploma or GED.
- 9Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
