You will diagnose and repair vehicles with precision, owning the full repair cycle from initial inspection to final quality check. You'll work alongside a team of certified technicians and service advisors, supported by the latest MAZDA diagnostic tools and factory training. What sets this position apart is the direct path to Mazda Master Technician certification, with tuition reimbursement and a clear promotion ladder.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Diagnose and repair Mazda vehicles across all systems, including engine, transmission, and electrical, turning around 10-12 cars per day.
  • 2Perform routine maintenance like oil changes, brake jobs, and tire rotations, following Mazda factory specs to ensure warranty compliance.
  • 3Use MAZDA diagnostic software and scan tools to identify fault codes and execute repair plans, reducing comeback rates below 2%.
  • 4Document all work on repair orders with detailed notes, tagging parts and labor hours to streamline billing and customer transparency.
  • 5Communicate directly with service advisors on repair timelines, flagging any additional issues found during inspections.
  • 6Keep your bay fully stocked and organized, managing tool inventory and disposing of waste oil and fluids per environmental regulations.
  • 7Mentor apprentice technicians on Mazda-specific procedures, sharing best practices for rust repair and body electrical troubleshooting.

Requirements8

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician, with at least 1 year on Mazda or similar Asian imports.
  • 2ASE certification in Brakes and Electrical/Electronic Systems, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 3Working knowledge of MAZDA diagnostic tools such as MDARS or equivalent scan equipment.
  • 4Own your full set of tools from sockets to scan tools, with a rolling toolbox for daily use.
  • 5Valid driver's license and clean driving record to perform road tests.
  • 6High school diploma or GED; completion of a technical training program like UTI, WyoTech, or a Mazda STEP program is a plus.
  • 7Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long shifts, and work in all weather conditions in the service bay.
  • 8Flexibility for Saturday shifts and occasional overtime during peak seasons.
