Auto Technician will own brake jobs, oil changes, and diagnostics at MIDAS in Houston. Day-to-day work covers 2-post lifts, scan tools, and alignment racks. This shop services 30+ vehicles daily, so pace is steady. You are trusted to complete work without supervision. Pay ranges $35,000-$120,000 yearly.
What You'll Do8
- 1Diagnose and repair brake systems, suspensions, and engine components on import and domestic vehicles.
- 2Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements, using lift and scan tool.
- 3Inspect vehicles for additional issues and report findings to the service advisor.
- 4Replace worn parts like belts, hoses, and batteries per MIDAS standards.
- 5Keep work area organized and follow all safety procedures.
- 6Communicate with customers about repairs and costs.
- 7Operate alignment rack and tire changer for wheel services.
- 8Mentor junior techs when needed, sharing diagnostic techniques.
Requirements7
- 11+ years experience as an auto technician, with references.
- 2ASE certification or equivalent training.
- 3Own full set of hand tools and air tools.
- 4Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for 8+ hours.
- 5Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- 6Willingness to work Saturdays on a rotational basis.
- 7High school diploma or GED.
