Overview

You will own maintenance and repair for a fleet of delivery vehicles, heavy-duty tractors, and trailers at UPS. You will troubleshoot propulsion systems including diesel, gasoline, CNG, LNG, propane, hybrid, and electric drivetrains. Your work keeps critical logistics moving across the Seattle region. What You'll Do9

  • 1Perform DOT-compliant inspections on trucks and trailers, documenting findings and completing repairs.
  • 2Diagnose and repair hydraulic and air brake systems, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • 3Troubleshoot electrical systems and engine controls using diagnostic scan tools and PC-based software.
  • 4Conduct preventive maintenance on diesel and alternative fuel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
  • 5Operate standard and manual transmissions to test vehicle performance post-repair.
  • 6Utilize power and pneumatic tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble components.
  • 7Maintain a clean and organized workspace, and manage inventory of parts and hand tools.
  • 8Collaborate with the fleet team to prioritize urgent repairs and minimize vehicle downtime.
  • 9Complete all required paperwork, including service records and time logs, with accuracy.

Requirements10

  • 13-5 years of Journeyman Automotive Mechanic experience with medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • 2Active driver's license issued by the state, and must be 21 years or older.
  • 3Willing to work night shift (6:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m., Monday-Friday).
  • 4Possess required hand tools for the job assignment.
  • 5CDL Class A or B preferred.
  • 6Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and PC.
  • 7Hands-on experience in fleet repair or dealership environments.
  • 8Skill in performing DOT inspections on trucks.
  • 9Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, and climb ladders frequently.
  • 10Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
