Automotive Detailer and Inventory Specialist
Overview
You will own the full vehicle preparation and inventory lifecycle for a high-volume independent dealership. You will detail, prep, and stage vehicles for sale, ensuring every unit is showroom-ready and lot organization supports rapid sales flow. Working with a tight-knit operations team and reporting directly to the dealership manager, you will coordinate vehicle movement, support technicians, and maintain a clean, presentable facility. This role stands apart through its blend of hands-on detailing with inventory control duties, plus a clear path to advancement within the dealership.
What You'll Do10
- 1Detail and prep new vehicle inventory for photography and sales display, ensuring each unit meets showroom standards.
- 2Maintain all vehicles clean, fueled, charged, and free of warning lights, ready for test drives and delivery.
- 3Keep the lot and showroom organized and presentable, rotating stock to optimize visibility and access.
- 4Execute precision parking and vehicle movement across the dealership, adhering to safety and efficiency protocols.
- 5Support pick-up and delivery of vehicles to and from service centers, auctions, and customer locations.
- 6Assist paint and body technicians with vehicle prep and post-repair detailing as needed.
- 7Monitor and restock detailing chemicals and parts inventory, tracking usage and placing orders when stock runs low.
- 8Meet daily operational deadlines with a sense of urgency, prioritizing tasks based on sales and service needs.
- 9Document vehicle condition and inventory status in the dealership's tracking system, flagging any issues.
- 10Maintain cleanliness and order in all display and work areas, including the wash bay and detailing supplies.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of professional detailing experience, including paint correction, interior shampooing, and trim restoration.
- 23+ years experience ordering chemicals and parts, with knowledge of inventory management systems.
- 3Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, as verified by a background check.
- 4Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles safely and confidently.
- 5Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality, with a strong work ethic.
- 6Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and overtime as needed.
- 7Team player with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail in all tasks.
- 8Physical stamina to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds during detailing work.
