Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee
Overview
You will train to become a certified auto glass technician, mastering glass repair, replacement, and recalibration. You will learn through hands-on and classroom training, earning the Safelite SafeTech certification. You will work on a team of experienced technicians, serving customers with a can-do attitude. What You'll Do6
- 1Install and repair auto glass while observing and assisting experienced technicians through hands-on training.
- 2Recalibrate automotive safety systems, using computerized diagnostic tools to complete troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
- 3Provide additional services and products to customers, such as windshield wiper replacements or chip repairs.
- 4Study and pass testing to become a Safelite-certified Technician, demonstrating proficiency in installations and following taught techniques.
- 5Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company-issued tools, and chemicals used during the workday.
- 6Comply with all policies and standards, including those related to safety and professional appearance.
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 2Valid state-issued driver's license and any other licenses required by law to operate a company vehicle.
- 3Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 4Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- 5Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, and bend and twist body.
- 6Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- 7Ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and agree to be monitored via in-cab vehicle safety camera and video surveillance technology.
- 8Maintain professionalism and passion for providing outstanding customer service and exceeding customer expectations.
- 9Ability to safely work outside in a wide variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures for extended periods.
- 10Ability to work with chemicals, including flammable chemicals, as applicable per the Safelite Way of Fitting.
