Seeking a dedicated Assistant Track and Field Coach (Part-Time) to support LIU Men’s and Women’s Horizontal and Vertical Jumps. What You'll Do9

  • 1Collaborate with the Head Coach to implement effective coaching strategies that develop athletes’ technical skills and tactical understanding
  • 2Foster a team culture rooted in discipline accountability and sportsmanship
  • 3Participate in recruiting efforts to identify and attract top talent
  • 4Support daily program operations including practice organization competition preparation and student-athlete welfare
  • 5Mentor student-athletes through individual meetings focused on performance goals and academic progress
  • 6Work closely with coaching staff strength and conditioning personnel and academic advisors to provide comprehensive support
  • 7Partner with academic services to ensure student-athletes maintain strong academic standing
  • 8Uphold NCAA conference and university regulations while promoting integrity and ethical standards
  • 9Represent LIU in community outreach initiatives and build connections with alumni supporters

Requirements9

  • 1Bachelor’s degree and USATF Level 1 Certification
  • 2Minimum 2 years high school coaching experience with proven success
  • 3Strong knowledge of Track and Field jumps techniques strategies and trends
  • 4Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills
  • 5Ability to work irregular hours and travel including evenings and weekends
  • 6Valid US driver’s license
  • 7Previous coaching experience at an NCAA Division I institution
  • 8Demonstrated success in recruiting top-level student-athletes
  • 9Experience with community engagement and program visibility
