Assistant Store Manager Sales - Footwear & Apparel at DICK'S Sporting Goods
Overview
Lead sales and athlete engagement in Footwear & Apparel while driving performance through expert coaching and product knowledge. Develop and execute full-year business growth plans and manage store operations. What You'll Do11
- 1Collaborate with Store Manager to develop and execute annual business growth strategies including forecasting and 90-day planning
- 2Identify operational opportunities and validate programs like BOPIS and ship-from-store processes
- 3Directly manage a team of Captains and influence broader store team through coaching and development
- 4Hold performance reviews and provide development plans for all team members
- 5Ensure compliance with policies and maintain inclusive standards across merchandising and presentations
- 6Promote and lead company programs such as loyalty initiatives and warranty sales
- 7Act as a role model for service excellence and lead by example in athlete interactions
- 8Drive training initiatives and validate cross-training leadership capabilities
- 9Partner with Store Manager on long-range workforce planning and approve Captain staffing decisions
- 10Oversee payroll and scheduling to align with budget goals and athlete traffic patterns
- 11Hire and build strong teams by recruiting, interviewing, and mentoring Captain supervisors
Requirements8
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years retail management experience
- 2Proven ability to lead teams and develop talent through coaching and development
- 3Strong communication skills and demonstrated track record in customer-focused environments
- 4Experience with inventory management and operational strategy
- 5Commitment to diversity inclusion and safe workplace practices
- 6Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- 7Experience with POS systems and e-commerce platforms
- 8Valid driver's license and willingness to commute to Natick MA location
