Assistant Store Manager, Retail Operations & Team Leadership
Overview
You own store performance, team development, and operational excellence at a high-volume ALDI location. You lead day-to-day operations, drive payroll and total loss goals, and coach a team of direct reports. You partner with the store leader to execute action plans that improve results and customer satisfaction. What You'll Do10
- 1Develop and implement action plans with the store leader to improve operating results and sales.
- 2Supervise daily store operations, including scheduling, cash control, and inventory procedures.
- 3Train and develop direct reports, setting clear performance expectations and providing feedback.
- 4Monitor competitor activity and adjust strategies to maintain ALDI's market position.
- 5Participate in hiring interviews and recommend new products or discontinuations based on customer feedback.
- 6Resolve customer concerns promptly in the store leader's absence.
- 7Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and signage standards, and rectify any hazards.
- 8Manage stock levels through ordering and merchandising to maximize sales and freshness.
- 9Achieve payroll and total loss budgets and oversee inventory counts.
- 10Ensure compliance with company policies, protecting data and upholding security standards.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of progressive experience in a retail environment, including prior management experience.
- 2High School Diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience.
- 3Ability to operate cash registers, electric/manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers.
- 4Skills in budgeting, personnel costs, and expense management.
- 5Proven ability to coach, guide, and evaluate employee performance.
- 6Strong verbal and written communication skills for team coordination.
- 7Meets state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages.
- 8Must be 18 years or older and able to lift up to 45 pounds.
