You will build and manage a portfolio of prospects and donors for Surgery and related areas at Mass General Brigham, driving philanthropic gifts from identification through stewardship. You will own the full donor cycle, from qualification to closing gifts, with support from supervisors and cross-team partners. What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and actively manage a portfolio of prospects and donors, meeting annual fundraising and performance metrics set by the department.
  • 2Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new donors while ensuring compliance with patient confidentiality requirements.
  • 3Conduct donor meetings and prospect qualifications through proactive and reactive donor engagement.
  • 4Solicit and close gifts ranging from outright, life income, bequests, and gifts of assets, with supervisor guidance.
  • 5Formulate, document, and execute prospect and donor moves management strategies.
  • 6Fully document work in the donor database, Blackbaud CRM.
  • 7Develop and enhance donor relationships to maximize philanthropic giving.
  • 8Collaborate with colleagues across fundraising teams to achieve team and office goals.
  • 9Strengthen relationships with hospital and institutional partners, meeting regularly to support their engagement in philanthropy.
  • 10Develop understanding of research, clinical, teaching, and community missions at Mass General Brigham and produce case statements and proposals.

Requirements7

  • 1Bachelor's degree required and 3-5 years of related experience in fundraising or development.
  • 2Experience devising and implementing cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • 3Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, strong work ethic, and strategic thinking.
  • 4Proficiency in data entry, data management, and reporting.
  • 5Ability to motivate, engage, influence, and collaborate with diverse audiences.
  • 6Entrepreneurial, conscientious, and results-oriented work style with flexibility in a changing environment.
  • 7Experience with Blackbaud CRM (or Raiser's Edge), Microsoft Office Suite, and video conferencing platforms (Zoom and Teams) preferred.
