Overview
The Assistant Controller will support the Controller across accounting reporting and regulatory functions at a community bank. This hands‑on role involves loan accounting general ledger reconciliation liquidity risk reporting investment accounting audit support and management reporting. It is ideal for a seasoned community bank professional who thrives in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Do15
- 1Record revenue recognition for each mortgage loan including gain on sale fees and related items in line with policy
- 2Reconcile loan level funding worksheets to the general ledger each month loan by loan
- 3Research and resolve discrepancies escalating non standard transactions to the Controller before booking
- 4Prepare assigned general ledger account reconciliations and supporting schedules
- 5Maintain fixed asset schedules including additions disposals and depreciation
- 6Prepare recurring close entries and supporting documentation for Controller review
- 7Investigate and clear reconciling items on a timely basis
- 8Prepare monthly and quarterly ALCO reporting including liquidity analysis stress testing capital risk trends and variance reporting
- 9Monitor daily liquidity and cash position reporting funding needs
- 10Prepare interest rate risk modeling and reports serving as primary contact for third party ALM model provider
- 11Coordinate documentation for internal audits external financial statement audits and regulatory examinations
- 12Prepare requested schedules and workpapers tracking open items through resolution
- 13Assist with updates to accounting and finance policies and procedures
- 14Contribute to budget forecasting and management reporting preparing variance and trend analysis for management
- 15Prepare recurring reporting packages for management ALCO and the Board of Directors
Requirements7
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 210 or more years in a community bank finance accounting or treasury function
- 3Hands-on experience with general ledger reconciliation investment accounting and fixed assets
- 4Experience preparing ALCO and board level reporting including liquidity and interest rate risk analysis
- 5Loan operations or loan servicing background preferred
- 6Bachelor's degree in accounting finance or related field
- 7Advanced degree or professional certification a plus
