Overview

As the Applied AI Modeling Lead, you will own the development and launch of machine learning and AI models that shape financial outcomes for millions of Chase customers. You will lead end-to-end modeling engagements across retail, credit card, home, auto lending, and wealth management, collaborating with business, governance, and technology teams. Your models will drive decisions in lending, risk, and customer experience. This role stands out because you will balance cutting-edge AI techniques with real-world business constraints, mentoring junior talent and influencing strategy.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Design and deploy machine learning and AI models for credit card and consumer finance use cases, ensuring performance and speed to market.
  • 2Lead modeling engagements from data exploration to deployment, translating ambiguous business questions into actionable plans.
  • 3Build Python pipelines for data analysis and model development using NumPy, Scikit-Learn, and Pandas.
  • 4Drive adoption of Deep Learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch for advanced predictive models.
  • 5Partner with governance teams to ensure regulatory compliance, document models, and track performance metrics.
  • 6Coach junior data scientists, enhancing their technical and business acumen.
  • 7Own the integration of AI solutions (e.g., reinforcement learning, optimization) into production environments.

Requirements8

  • 17+ years of hands-on experience in Credit Cards industry developing statistical, econometric, or ML models.
  • 25+ years of experience with AI techniques such as reinforcement learning or optimization algorithms.
  • 3M.S. degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics/Statistics, or Operations Research).
  • 4Proficient in Python with hands-on experience in Machine Learning and Deep Learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and libraries (NumPy, Scikit-Learn, Pandas).
  • 5Strong working knowledge of Jupyter Notebook/Lab.
  • 6Demonstrated ability to convert ambiguous business inquiries into clear, actionable analysis plans.
  • 7Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms (preferred).
  • 8Knowledge of Databricks and Snowflake (preferred).
