Analyst II Regulatory Accounting, Utility Finance & FERC/NARUC
Overview
Owns regulatory accounting tasks with focus on FERC/NARUC reporting and rate-case support at a growing regulatory team. Works on data extraction, reconciliations, and data-request responses with moderate supervision. Contributes to standardization and continuous improvement and mentors Level I analysts. Hybrid onsite role based in Phoenix, AZ with multiple supporting regions.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build data extracts and reconcile actuals to regulatory schedules for monthly and quarterly reporting
- 2Prepare data and schedules for rate-case filings and regulatory data requests with timely submission
- 3Draft financial data-request responses and coordinate review comments before final submission
- 4Maintain audit-ready working papers, tie-outs, and control documentation for regulatory accounting
- 5Contribute to standardization, automation, and documentation consistency across regulatory processes
- 6Provide informal guidance to Level I analysts on templates and recurring process steps
- 7Track status, due dates, owners, reviewers, confidentiality designations, and filing readiness
- 8Resolve routine data issues and data gaps and escalate where needed
- 9Support SAP or ERP reporting systems and assist with month-end close and financial statements
- 10Assist with pro forma adjustments, normalizations, and variance explanations for regulatory reporting
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2Two or more years of relevant accounting, financial reporting, audit, regulatory reporting, utility accounting, or financial analysis experience
- 3Working knowledge of US GAAP and financial statements
- 4Understanding of FERC/NARUC reporting and utility accounting concepts
- 5Strong Excel, reconciliation, and data analysis skills
