AI Research Intern, Clinical Reasoning & Computer Use
Overview
You will own clinical reasoning and computer use models at Optexity, a research lab deploying directly inside clinics and hospitals with proprietary data. You will work on real clinical reasoning trajectories from practicing physicians, shaping the model and product direction. This is a founding research hire with direct access to founders, real compute, and no barrier between idea and experiment. The role offers a chance to publish in top venues like NeurIPS and ICML and to define the research agenda from day one.
What You'll Do7
- 1Analyze proprietary clinical data from hospital partners to surface insights that drive model and product decisions.
- 2Build clinical reasoning models that improve physician workflows using Python and PyTorch.
- 3Design and publish benchmarks exposing current LLM limitations on real clinical reasoning tasks.
- 4Evaluate computer-use models on real-world tasks to guide development.
- 5Own the training and evaluation pipeline end to end, from data preprocessing to model deployment.
- 6Convert open-ended research questions into working models with minimal predefined structure.
- 7Write findings as technical reports and submissions to NeurIPS, ICML, and CVPR.
