AI Prompt Engineer - Cybersecurity & Prompt Engineering
Overview
You will own the design and delivery of advanced prompts and AI harnesses that drive security assessments of frontier AI models. This team performs SAST and DAST scanning, and you will build the cyber-context-aware prompts that target vulnerabilities, perimeter scans, and certificate misuse. You will collaborate with data engineering to structure findings and with the threat-hunting team to action AI-surfaced threats. The work scales from a single developer to a core function, so your prompts will set the standard for automated cyber defense testing. Unlike typical prompt roles, this one demands real cybersecurity depth, not just model fluency.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build advanced AI prompts and prompting harnesses for cyber defense testing and analysis
- 2Apply prompting techniques to vulnerability and penetration-style testing, perimeter scanning, port scanning, and certificate misuse detection
- 3Iterate prompt design across frontier models (OpenAI, Anthropic, or other) to maximize detection accuracy
- 4Partner with data engineering to capture and structure findings in PostgreSQL and Elastic
- 5Collaborate with the threat-hunting team to prioritize and triage AI-surfaced findings
- 6Extend the existing prompt library, improving coverage for SAST and DAST scenarios
- 7Document prompt patterns and outcomes for reuse across security testing workflows
Requirements6
- 13+ years writing complex, advanced prompts with a portfolio or project examples
- 2Cybersecurity background with understanding of vulnerabilities, malware behavior, and ingress/egress issues
- 3General software development experience in Python, Go, or .NET
- 4Database experience with PostgreSQL, Elastic, or Cloud SQL
- 5Experience with Kubernetes and GKE is a plus
- 6Model-agnostic experience with frontier models is acceptable; demonstrated prompting skill and cyber context matter most
