AI Project Manager, Enterprise AI/ML & GenAI
Overview
Own the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise-scale AI/ML and Generative AI initiatives for a Fortune 500 client in Austin. You'll drive cross-functional teams across data science, engineering, and product to ship production-ready AI solutions. This role offers the chance to shape AI strategy and delivery in a high-stakes environment, with a focus on measurable business outcomes from day one.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead the end-to-end delivery of AI/ML projects, from scoping to deployment, ensuring milestones and quality targets are met.
- 2Drive the execution of Generative AI programs, coordinating data scientists, engineers, and product managers to build and launch models.
- 3Define project roadmaps, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks across multiple simultaneous AI workstreams.
- 4Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retros) for AI delivery teams, adapting rituals to fast-moving research cycles.
- 5Translate business requirements into technical specs for Python and MLOps stacks, ensuring alignment with engineering standards.
- 6Monitor project health via KPIs, burn-down charts, and stakeholder dashboards, escalating blockers proactively.
- 7Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, negotiating priorities and trade-offs to keep AI initiatives on track.
- 8Drive the adoption of Azure and OpenAI services, guiding the team on best practices for cost, security, and scale.
Requirements8
- 15+ years managing technical projects, with 3+ years specifically in AI/ML or data science delivery.
- 2Proven track record shipping Generative AI or LLM-based products in production environments.
- 3Strong understanding of MLOps practices: model versioning, CI/CD for ML, monitoring, and retraining pipelines.
- 4Hands-on experience with Python and common data science libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- 5Familiarity with cloud AI platforms, especially Azure AI and OpenAI services.
- 6Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to translate complex AI concepts to non-technical audiences.
- 7Certification in PMP or Agile/Scrum is a plus.
- 8Ability to work onsite in Austin, TX 5 days per week.
