Overview
Lead clinical documentation integrity initiatives and mentor APRNs PAs ensuring accurate coding and compliance. Drive quality improvements across documentation practices while supporting departmental strategic objectives.
What You'll Do10
- 1Perform clinical chart reviews to verify documentation accuracy using established diagnostic criteria
- 2Analyze provider documentation lab results and treatment plans to identify coding opportunities
- 3Query providers using ACDIS/AHIMA guidelines to resolve documentation discrepancies
- 4Collaborate with clinicians to enhance documentation completeness and accuracy
- 5Partner with data analytics teams to develop education programs for IKP APPs and partners
- 6Conduct educational sessions for clinicians and medical coders on documentation standards
- 7Work with DaVita leadership to address documentation trends and issues
- 8Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to team meetings
- 9Develop and deliver training modules on Medicare risk adjustment and coding requirements
- 10Provide on-site training presentations as needed with flexible remote work arrangement
Requirements11
- 1Master's degree with active clinical license NP or PA
- 2Current NP or PA licensure in state of residence
- 3CCDS-O or CDIP certification or obtain within six months
- 4CRC certification requirement
- 55+ years clinical experience as NP or PA
- 63+ years documentation improvement coding experience
- 71+ year experience working with advanced practice providers
- 8Solid background in ICD-10 coding risk adjustment
- 9Knowledge of compliant query writing processes
- 10Ability to perform 20-30 medical record reviews daily
- 11Technical proficiency with EMR systems
