Overview
You will own the full accounting cycle for a major airlines company in New York, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial records. You will reconcile accounts, prepare financial reports, and analyze transactions in a fast-paced payroll environment. What You'll Do8
- 1Own the monthly close process, reconciling GL accounts and preparing journal entries in Oracle.
- 2Verify and approve payroll transactions for accuracy and compliance with IRS regulations.
- 3Analyze financial statements and provide actionable insights to management.
- 4Implement process improvements to reduce close time by 20% using Blackline.
- 5Prepare and file sales tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
- 6Support the annual audit by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- 7Develop and maintain Excel models for revenue forecasting and budgeting.
- 8Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate cost allocation across departments.
Requirements8
- 12-5 years of accounting experience in airlines or travel industry.
- 2Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 3CPA certification preferred.
- 4Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- 5Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, such as SAP.
- 6Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- 7Experience with payroll processing and ADP software.
- 8Ability to communicate financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
