Academic Support Law Faculty Fellow Position at University of San Francisco
Overview
The ASP Law Faculty Fellow will lead individual counseling and academic coaching for first-year law students at the University of San Francisco School of Law. This full-time contract role involves teaching Exam Rehearsal classes managing student progress and supporting the academic support team. The ideal candidate has strong teaching skills and a passion for supporting diverse learners.
What You'll Do11
- 1Provide individual counseling and feedback to first-year ASP students
- 2Assist in the mandatory two-week summer orientation program
- 3Teach two to three sections weekly for two hours each in Exam Rehearsal classes
- 4Teach 1L courses in Torts Civil Procedure Contracts Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure
- 5Collaborate with the ASP/ABES Tutoring Program to support student success
- 6Manage the ASP calendar and tutor schedules including room reservations
- 7Perform research and data collection on program effectiveness
- 8Publicize the program to the student body and handle marketing communications
- 9Work closely with the ASP Director on curriculum development and tutor training
- 10Train and monitor tutors and review lesson plans and tutorial materials
- 11Develop materials for exam rehearsal classes
Requirements8
- 1JD degree required with California Bar eligibility
- 2Minimum two years of academic support or teaching experience with diverse populations
- 3Proven ability to assess student progress and design tailored interventions
- 4Strong reading writing and editing skills
- 5Understanding of educational theory and multicultural factors
- 6Commitment to USF's mission and collaborative team environment
- 7Physical stamina to lift fifty pounds and work in-person for most activities
- 8Availability to start by August 1 2025 for a one-year contract
Salary Insight
$36 - $38k per year
