Overview

Youth Team Coach leads implementation of youth team curriculum while supporting athlete development as athletes and individuals. This role involves direct coaching and curriculum execution alongside safety oversight and family engagement.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Collaborate with Head Coach to develop weekly training sessions and long-term development plans for recreational and competitive teams
  • 2Implement tailored coaching strategies to support individual athlete growth
  • 3Create supportive inclusive respectful team environments
  • 4Communicate athlete progress safety concerns and training needs to Head Coach
  • 5Supervise and motivate youth climbers during practices events and competitions
  • 6Represent Bouldering Project at local regional and national climbing competitions
  • 7Respond to incidents and injuries following safety protocols and reporting systems
  • 8Ensure all youth participants understand facility rules and have signed waivers
  • 9Forerun or climb routes to support training objectives
  • 10Provide positive professional interactions with families athletes staff and community members

Requirements4

  • 1Required: Experience climbing and coaching in structured environments strong ability to work with youth and build rapport
  • 2Required: Communication and collaboration skills comfort supervising children and managing group dynamics
  • 3Available evenings 3:30-7pm and some weekends as required ability to travel to competitions on weekends
  • 4Passion for climbing teaching and youth development professionalism and commitment to representing BP values
