Overview
Coach after-school youth sports camps for children ages 3–12 across the Twin Cities. Sports Unlimited seeks an energetic coach to lead 1.5-hour sessions in flag football, soccer, basketball, and more. You'll own the camp experience from setup to cleanup, creating a fun, structured environment. This contract role offers flexible hours at multiple locations, with schedules varying by season.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead 1.5-hour youth sports camps for ages 3–12, arriving 30 minutes early for setup and check-in.
- 2Teach age-appropriate fundamentals in sports like Flag Football, Soccer, and Basketball using provided guides.
- 3Plan and execute daily activities including warm-ups, skill stations, drills, and small-sided games.
- 4Adapt coaching style to meet the developmental needs of different age groups and skill levels.
- 5Ensure participant safety through close supervision and adherence to camp policies.
- 6Manage group behavior with positive reinforcement and consistent routines.
- 7Communicate effectively with campers, staff, and parents as needed.
- 8Set up and clean up equipment before and after each session.
- 9Serve as a positive role model demonstrating enthusiasm and teamwork.
- 10Respond to minor injuries or conflicts following camp guidelines.
Requirements9
- 1Previous coaching, playing, or teaching experience in youth sports or summer camps preferred.
- 2Strong knowledge of various sports including Flag Football, Soccer, Baseball, and Basketball.
- 3Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- 4Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- 5First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.
- 6Passion for sports and youth development.
- 7Reliable transportation to assigned locations.
- 8Must be available for the posted dates and times for the specific location.
- 9Must pass background check.
