Windows Systems Engineer, Indianapolis, IN Contract
Overview
You will own Windows server infrastructure for enterprise clients onsite in Indianapolis, Indiana. You will manage Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange environments at scale. You will collaborate with customers and technical teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues. This 3-6 month contract offers direct client exposure and hands-on troubleshooting.
What You'll Do9
- 1Diagnose and resolve complex Windows Server infrastructure issues in production environments.
- 2Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS across multiple domains.
- 3Deploy and maintain Windows Server updates and patches on a scheduled basis.
- 4Collaborate with customers and internal teams to troubleshoot Exchange and Office 365 integration.
- 5Document root cause analyses and remediation steps for recurring system problems.
- 6Build and configure Hyper-V or VMware virtual machines for new deployments.
- 7Monitor system performance and capacity for server clusters, escalating as needed.
- 8Provide on-call support for critical incidents affecting customer operations.
- 9Migrate legacy Windows Server workloads to Azure or modern infrastructure.
Requirements9
- 15+ years administering Windows Server in enterprise environments.
- 23+ years managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
- 32+ years working with Exchange or Office 365 hybrid environments.
- 42+ years experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualization.
- 5Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows networking and security.
- 6Excellent customer-facing communication for explaining technical issues.
- 7Microsoft Certified (e.g., MCSE, MCSA) preferred.
- 8Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience.
- 9Powershell scripting for automation and bulk operations.
