Overview

The Wholesale Produce Lead will own daily produce operations at a busy distribution site, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely fulfillment at scale. You will work with a small onsite team and cross-functional partners to exceed service standards. This role emphasizes food safety compliance, vendor relationships, and continuous improvement in a hands-on environment.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and supervise daily produce operations and staff to meet quality and service targets
  • 2Maintain product quality and accurate inventory levels to reduce loss
  • 3Coordinate purchasing, receiving, and order fulfillment to support sales goals
  • 4Ensure compliance with food safety standards and GMP across all activities
  • 5Minimize product loss and manage stock rotation to optimize shelf life
  • 6Build and maintain vendor and customer relationships to drive reliability and growth
  • 7Support department sales and operational goals through proactive planning and communication
  • 8Provide hands-on leadership in refrigerated environments and during peak periods
  • 9Monitor ERP/MRP system data for accuracy and timely replenishment
  • 10Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency

Requirements11

  • 13+ years of produce, wholesale, or grocery experience
  • 2Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • 3Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • 4Knowledge of produce handling, inventory control, and food safety
  • 5Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in refrigerated environments as needed
  • 6Proficiency in FDA regulations, GMP, and basic ERP/MRP systems
  • 7Experience with stock rotation and loss prevention
  • 8Familiarity with food and beverage manufacturing processes
  • 9Willingness to work Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with Sunday availability
  • 10Onsite location in Farmingdale, NY
  • 11Proven ability to build vendor and customer relationships
