Overview
As a Warehouse Order Puller at Pennsylvania Steel Company, you will pull and package various types of metals to fulfill customer work orders in a 100,000 sq ft facility. You will report to the Branch Warehouse Manager and work with a team of 10+ warehouse associates. This role offers a full-time, permanent day shift position with an established 50+ year company. What You'll Do9
- 1Pull orders by hand or with forklift and overhead crane to pick specified metal products from racks and staging areas.
- 2Package materials per customer specs using banding, stretch wrap, and cardboard to secure loads for shipment.
- 3Use tape measures and micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- 4Maintain a clean workspace by sweeping and organizing materials to uphold safety and quality standards.
- 5Follow all safety guidelines from the PA Steel Safety Manual and report hazards immediately.
- 6Operate Windows-based inventory systems to scan and track picked items in real time.
- 7Load and unload trucks using forklifts and cranes while securing straps and chains.
- 8Communicate with supervisors and team members to prioritize orders and meet daily shipment goals.
- 9Assist in inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock levels.
Requirements9
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 21+ years operating forklifts and overhead cranes in a warehouse setting.
- 3Working knowledge of decimals and fractions for measurement and conversion.
- 4Proficient in Windows based software for order tracking and data entry.
- 5Ability to use tape measures and micrometers for precise measurement.
- 6Strong verbal and written communication skills for team coordination.
- 7Capable of standing for 8+ hours and climbing stairs and ladders.
- 8Frequent lifting of 50+ pounds and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.
- 9Comfortable working in temperature extremes in an open warehouse environment.
