Vocational Services Supervisor Direct Support Professional Employment
Overview
Gesher Human Services seeks a Supervisor for Vocational Services to lead Direct Support Professionals providing onsite support to individuals with disabilities. This role manages recruitment training and supervision of staff while ensuring quality service delivery across supported employment sites. The ideal candidate will drive program improvements and foster inclusive workplace practices.
What You'll Do11
- 1Manage day to day operations of Supported Employment and Skill Building sites
- 2Interview orient train and supervise Direct Support Professionals
- 3Complete written performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
- 4Submit weekly time sheets for staff payroll processing
- 5Assist in modifying job descriptions and creating adaptive devices for participants
- 6Ensure participants complete reports trainings and timesheets on schedule
- 7Identify new Supported Employment sites and implement accommodations
- 8Provide formal and informal training including role modeling for social integration
- 9Perform data entry and manage reporting projects as needed
- 10Serve on Agency committees and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- 11Transport participants using personal or agency vehicles based on schedule
Requirements11
- 1High school diploma or equivalency with two years college preferred
- 2Three to four years related work experience with individuals with developmental emotional or physical impairments
- 3Two years supervisory experience preferred
- 4First Aid and CPR certification required
- 5Valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation skills
- 6Fluency in American Sign Language is a plus
- 7Strong interpersonal communication abilities for collaboration with employers and staff
- 8Experience with behavior modification and task analysis techniques
- 9Ability to work flexible hours and travel to local sites with short notice
- 10Knowledge of vocational development and inclusive hiring practices
- 11Dedication to supporting individuals with diverse abilities
Salary Insight
$48 - $65k per year
