Vocal and Piano Teacher, South Bay (Los Gatos)
Overview
Teach vocal and piano lessons to students from young beginners to adults at the Anderson School of Music in Los Gatos. You will own a studio of one-on-one lessons, building each student's technique and passion for music. Our team values solid musical foundations and a student-centered approach. This contract role offers $42 per hour with a potential raise after a 90-day assessment. You'll join a supportive school with training, benefits, and a mission to create lifelong musicians.
What You'll Do9
- 1Teach vocal and piano lessons to students of all ages, from young beginners to adults, in person at our Los Gatos location.
- 2Build lesson plans that develop each student's technique, musicianship, and love for music.
- 3Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet individual goals.
- 4Communicate with parents and guardians about student progress and practice strategies.
- 5Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance for all scheduled lessons.
- 6Collaborate with the school team to support student recitals and performance opportunities.
- 7Adapt your teaching to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels, including early-intermediate piano students.
- 8Use your foundation in vocal pedagogy to guide students toward healthy singing habits.
- 9Provide a positive and encouraging learning environment that builds confidence and motivation.
Requirements7
- 12+ years teaching experience in vocal and/or piano.
- 2Degree in music with emphasis in vocal pedagogy or performance, or equivalent experience (current music majors will be considered).
- 3Ability to teach piano to an early intermediate level.
- 4Experience teaching young beginners to adults.
- 5Reside in the South Bay area (Los Gatos or nearby).
- 6Ability to teach additional instruments such as guitar is a plus.
- 7Valid authorization to work in the United States.
