
Virtual Licensed Therapist (LCSW) for Foster Youth, North Carolina
Overview
You will own a low-caseload virtual therapy practice for Medicaid-covered youth and families impacted by foster care, delivering trauma-informed care to clients across North Carolina. You join a collaborative team of clinicians and Care Advocates using evidence-informed modalities like TF-CBT and CPT. The role blends direct therapy, caregiver support, and care coordination, with flexible after-school hours. What You'll Do9
- 1Deliver virtual one-on-one trauma-focused therapy to youth and caregivers using TF-CBT and CPT
- 2Conduct clinical assessments and build measurement-based care plans with clients and families
- 3Maintain relational continuity across placement or life changes, supporting clients through transitions
- 4Collaborate with non-clinical Care Advocates to ensure clients access needed services and supports
- 5Offer caregiver support sessions to improve family stability and outcomes
- 6Document all sessions in Medicaid-compliant formats within 48 hours
- 7Attend weekly supervision, team meetings, and required trainings
- 8Provide crisis support within a trauma-informed framework
- 9Engage in peer consultation and cross-functional collaboration
Requirements9
- 15+ years post-independent licensure as LCSW (strongly preferred) or LCMHC/LPC in North Carolina
- 2Active unrestricted independent license in North Carolina
- 3Direct experience with child welfare, foster care, pediatric mental health, and complex trauma
- 4Comfort working with youth ages 5-26
- 5Experience with telehealth platforms and Medicaid documentation standards
- 6Ability to complete background checks required by Medicaid and child welfare systems
- 7Approval to provide Medicaid-covered services or prior billing experience preferred
- 8Willingness to obtain additional state licenses (VA, MO, NM) with company-paid costs
- 9Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred
