What You'll Do8
- 1Build and execute the VAVE roadmap to hit annual cost reduction and supply continuity targets, balancing team and personal deliverables.
- 2Lead a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, setting priorities and holding them accountable for quality and timeline.
- 3Drive opportunity identification through BOM optimization, part standardization, alternate sourcing, and design simplification.
- 4Own high-impact VAVE projects yourself, from concept through production rollout, ensuring fit/form/function and reliability.
- 5Review and approve engineering changes via ECO/ECN, ensuring documentation and validation meet compliance and manufacturability standards.
- 6Collaborate with sourcing, quality, and operations to qualify alternate suppliers and implement changes into production.
- 7Track and report metrics on savings, cycle time, quality, and risk, communicating status and recovery actions to leadership.
- 8Resolve technical issues using structured root-cause methods like FMEA and 8D, and define validation plans to protect product integrity.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- 28+ years in electronic hardware design, sustaining engineering, or VAVE product engineering.
- 33+ years leading engineers as a working manager (player-coach), with remote and local team oversight.
- 4Proven record of personally delivering cost-reduction projects with measurable lifecycle outcomes.
- 5Strong expertise in electrical and mechanical change impact assessment, including DFM/DFA.
- 6Experience with ECO/ECN, validation, production release, and supplier qualification processes.
- 7Hands-on familiarity with PLM and ECAD/MCAD systems, plus compliance impacts (UL, EMC/EMI).
- 8Availability for hybrid work in Austin, TX (4 days onsite) and travel up to 15%.
