Overview

You will own the design-to-code pipeline for a fast-moving product team in San Francisco, translating Figma prototypes into production-ready React components at full scale. You'll collaborate daily with product managers and backend engineers to ship features that reach thousands of users. This role blends visual design and front-end implementation, requiring strong command of React, JavaScript, and Figma. You'll be the bridge between design and engineering, ensuring every interaction feels polished and performs flawlessly.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Translate user flows, wireframes, and Figma prototypes into production-ready React components within your first 90 days.
  • 2Collaborate with product managers to define interaction models and validate design decisions with React prototypes.
  • 3Integrate RESTful APIs by working with backend engineers to ensure seamless data flow in your React components.
  • 4Build and maintain a component library in Figma and React to ensure consistency across the product.
  • 5Debug and refine UI interactions using JavaScript and React dev tools to meet performance benchmarks.
  • 6Drive design reviews and present your work to stakeholders, incorporating feedback into iterative React updates.
  • 7Ship responsive and accessible UI that works across modern browsers and devices, leveraging React best practices.
  • 8Own the handoff process from design to development, documenting patterns and specs for the team.

Requirements8

  • 15+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with at least 2 years focusing on React implementation.
  • 2Proficiency in Figma for creating high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and design systems.
  • 3Strong JavaScript skills, including ES6+, and ability to write clean, reusable React components.
  • 4Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling data fetching in React (e.g., with Redux or Context API).
  • 5Deep understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • 6Excellent communication skills to collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams daily.
  • 7Portfolio demonstrating shipped React components and user-centered design thinking.
  • 8Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
