Urban Designer II - Stratus Team LLC
Overview
Stratus Team LLC seeks an Urban Designer II to lead site district community-scale projects. This role owns planning design contributions across master plans streetscapes development frameworks and public realm initiatives. The position drives independent design recommendations delivers technical documentation and mentors junior staff. Candidates will collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce impactful solutions.
What You'll Do12
- 1Develop design concepts iterative alternatives and planning recommendations for master plans streetscapes development frameworks and public realm projects
- 2Conduct advanced urban design planning and development analysis including capacity studies mobility assessments land-use evaluations urban form analysis and demographic research
- 3Synthesize technical findings into recommendations that support project objectives and client goals
- 4Prepare diagrams renderings maps visualizations presentations and technical reports communicating planning design concepts
- 5Create 2D and 3D models massing studies site layouts and urban design scenarios to evaluate alternative approaches
- 6Contribute written and graphic content to planning reports design guidelines regulatory frameworks and project presentations
- 7Present analyses design concepts and recommendations during internal client meetings stakeholder workshops and public engagement activities
- 8Assist with community engagement through visual materials workshop content and presentation graphics
- 9Review zoning regulations design standards and planning policies incorporating them into design solutions
- 10Maintain project schedules and deliverables coordinating with project managers to ensure timely production of materials
- 11Contribute to multidisciplinary coordination aligning design components with engineering architecture landscape and planning teams
- 12Incorporate feedback from senior designers and project managers reviewing work product for technical accuracy graphic quality and consistency with project objectives
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Urban Design Architecture Landscape Architecture Urban Planning or related field
- 23-5 years professional experience in urban design planning architecture landscape architecture or equivalent
- 3Portfolio demonstrating advanced design thinking analytical capabilities graphic communication and technical problem-solving skills
- 4Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite AutoCAD ArcGIS Revit Rhino Lumion or comparable design visualization software
- 5Strong understanding of planning studies urban design analyses master plans development frameworks design guidelines or regulatory documents
- 6Ability to manage multiple tasks within complex project workflows
- 7Knowledge of zoning regulations development processes TOD principles spatial analysis and public realm design
- 8Experience presenting work to clients stakeholders public agencies or community groups
- 9Working knowledge of zoning codes land development regulations form-based codes development review processes and entitlement procedures
- 10Professional certifications or progress toward licensure (AICP AIA ASLA LEED AP CNU-A etc.)
