What You'll Do8
- 1Analyze financial data for new Medicare Advantage groups using Excel and SQL to calculate risk and set pricing.
- 2Build new business proposals that align with underwriting guidelines and financial targets, delivering them to sales teams.
- 3Communicate rate development and underwriting policy to sales personnel, explaining strategies and addressing their questions.
- 4Escalate underwriting exceptions and financial variances to the appropriate level, flagging potential risks early.
- 5Produce accurate customer documents and deliverables, ensuring every deadline is met with precision.
- 6Support department projects and workgroups, identifying process improvements through automation or workflow changes.
- 7Collaborate with mentors and managers to refine pricing models, applying underwriting principles to each case.
- 8Prioritize multiple cases daily, balancing speed with accuracy in a high-volume environment.
Requirements6
- 11+ years of experience in underwriting pricing methodologies and funding arrangements.
- 2Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and independent thinking to complex problems.
- 3Proven success prioritizing work and multitasking in a fast-paced insurance or healthcare setting.
- 4Experience delivering clear written and verbal communication to internal stakeholders.
- 5Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel for financial modeling.
- 6Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, or a related field.
