Travel RN Oncology, Med-Surg & Night Shift in GA
Overview
The travel RN Oncology will support an acute Med/Surg oncology unit on a 12-hour night shift in a hospital setting. The role will start with a 13-week assignment and offers weekly pay and guaranteed hours. You will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to patient care, education, and discharge planning. This position provides opportunities to grow within a travel nursing program and gain experience in oncology care.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build direct patient care for adult oncology and medical-surgical patients in an acute care setting
- 2Monitor patient status, perform focused assessments, and escalate changes promptly to the care team
- 3Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies within scope of practice; manage lines and infusion devices as needed
- 4Collaborate with oncology, surgery, case management, and other disciplines and document care in the EMR
- 5Implement individualized care plans and educate patients and families on medications, procedures, and discharge planning; ensure safety and infection control protocols
Requirements5
- 1Active Georgia RN license or eligibility
- 2Minimum 2 years of recent oncology or med-surg experience
- 3BLS and NIHSS certifications (AHA BLS and NIHSS)
- 4Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a hospital med-surg setting
- 5Strong communication and teamwork skills; accurate EMR documentation
