Overview
Own patient care for a 29-bed Med/Surg Ortho unit at HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge, scaling to 39 beds with adult overflow. You work day or night shifts with a 5:1 ratio, supported by a charge nurse and an ACT from 10am-10pm. Handle post-op surgical patients, cardiac drips (amio, dilt, heparin), and remote telemetry using Meditech EMR. What You'll Do7
- 1Deliver Med/Surg care to post-op surgical patients with a 5:1 ratio on a 29-bed unit.
- 2Administer cardiac drips such as amio, dilt, and heparin while monitoring telemetry.
- 3Use Meditech EMR to document assessments, medications, and patient responses.
- 4Collaborate with the charge nurse and ACT to manage patient flow, especially during overflow to 39 beds.
- 5Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate to the charge nurse as needed.
- 6Orient new travelers and support a high-energy team culture.
- 7Maintain BLS certification and follow unit protocols for patient safety.
Requirements7
- 11+ year current Med/Surg RN acute care experience.
- 2Active BLS certification.
- 3Licensed as an RN in Colorado or compact state.
- 4Willingness to work either day or night shifts with rotating weekends.
- 5Comfort with remote telemetry and cardiac drip administration.
- 6Preferred: ACLS certification.
- 7Preferred: Prior Meditech experience.
