Overview

You will own strategic sourcing and procurement for Abbott Diabetes Care, a global leader in continuous glucose monitoring. You will drive supplier selection, RFQ/RFP processes, and purchase order management to accelerate product launches at manufacturing scale. You will partner with R&D, Engineering, and Supply Chain to integrate procurement early in the product lifecycle. Your work will directly enable innovation and supply continuity for life-changing diabetes technology. What You'll Do10

  • 1Send RFQs and RFPs to suppliers and follow up to meet bid deadlines.
  • 2Review supplier quotes for accuracy and create comparison reports covering price, performance, and tooling costs.
  • 3Create purchase requisitions, place Purchase Orders, and manage them through closure including invoice payment.
  • 4Lead procurement projects ensuring all activities are completed, including SOWs, RFIs, and ordering documents.
  • 5Support sourcing activities to identify and recommend new suppliers.
  • 6Lead special projects to reduce cost and increase efficiency within your scope.
  • 7Negotiate contracts within authority to achieve the best total cost of ownership, including pricing, lead times, and quality.
  • 8Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate procurement early in product development and accelerate commercialization.
  • 9Develop and execute sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, supply continuity, and innovation.
  • 10Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to capacity, geopolitical factors, and single-source dependencies.

Requirements7

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
  • 22+ years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles, ideally in medical devices or regulated industries.
  • 3Strong financial acumen to evaluate business cases, cost models, and supply chain tradeoffs.
  • 4Excellent communication and presentation skills for stakeholder management and senior leadership.
  • 5Proven analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
  • 6Knowledge of FDA, ISO, and quality regulatory requirements preferred.
  • 7Certification in CPSM, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent preferred.
