Overview
The Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) serves as a senior field-based professional within the US commercial organization focusing on commercial KOL relationship engagement and promotional speaker training. This role reports directly to the Director TLL and operates as a field extension of the marketing team. The position involves developing KOL engagement plans executing national and regional congress activities supporting commercial strategies and acting as liaison for on label initiatives.

- 1Develop and maintain KOL Engagement Plans for thought leaders
- 2Plan and execute National and Regional Congress Engagement Plan with focus on senior leadership interactions
- 3Support commercial KOL influence mapping initiatives by creating detailed profiles
- 4Monitor KOL insights regarding treatment patterns influencing commercial strategy
- 5Act as liaison between KOLs and Alexion for on label activities including office-based collaborations
- 6Facilitate commercial advisory boards by identifying key advisors
- 7Align with field partners such as Medical Science Liaisons on complementary initiatives
- 8Recruit KOLs for national and regional faculty and speaker bureaus with Marketing and Sales Management
- 9Train physician speakers on approved promotional slide decks
- 10Develop high-quality promotional education for physician speakers
- 11Ensure compliant execution of speaker programs
- 12Monitor speaker performance at live programs
- 13Work with marketing and contracted speakers to gather feedback for promotional content evolution
- 14Create and execute local promotional patient engagement plans
- 15Provide input for account plans and address customer service issues
- 16Coordinate cross-functional action plans for on label issues
- 17Provide customer insights to strategy and messaging development
- 18Collaborate with cross-functional teams for professionalism adherence and code compliance
- 19Provide field-based training for community-based promotional speakers
- 20Create and execute local promotional patient engagement plans
- 21Contribute to strategy messaging and program execution
- 22Manage multiple projects simultaneously with professionalism
- 23Maintain availability during standard business hours while traveling over 50 percent of the time
Requirements19
- 17+ years’ work experience in academia medical or bio/pharma fields
- 2Combination of product marketing field sales clinical nurse practitioner or thought leader engagement experience
- 3Knowledge of Thought Leader engagement practices
- 4Clinical technical and scientific expertise in complex disease states
- 5Proven ability to execute against strategic plans under tight deadlines
- 6Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 7Self-driven with excellent organizational abilities
- 8Highly collaborative managing multiple projects simultaneously
- 9Ability to handle extensive geographical territory
- 10Residence requirement within assigned territory or 150 miles of border
- 11Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- 12Willingness to travel more than 50 percent of the time including overnight and weekend trips
- 13Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
- 14Graduate degree MSc MSN MBA preferred
- 15Prior experience or relationships in Hematology and Nephrology
- 16Marketing or thought leader engagement experience preferred
- 17Self-driven with strong organizational skills
- 18Demonstrated ability to meet short-term objectives
- 19Experience with field-based training for community-based promotional speakers
Salary Insight
$174 - $262k per year
