You will own next-generation thermal management systems for Ford and Lincoln vehicles, spanning ICE, xEV, BEV, and Fuel Cell platforms. You will lead research programs from concept through production, working with cross-functional teams and suppliers. The role sits within the Research and Advanced Engineering organization, collaborating with Product Development and Manufacturing. What You'll Do8

  • 1Lead technology programs to design and validate thermal systems for ICE and electrified vehicles
  • 2Apply DFMEA, boundary diagrams, and P-diagrams to drive design development
  • 3Partner with teams to define requirements and verification plans for robust systems
  • 4Own advanced research workstreams from concept to supplier engagement and testing
  • 5Translate test data into design optimizations using MATLAB and LabVIEW
  • 6Communicate technical requirements to suppliers and evaluate emerging technologies
  • 7Direct CAD designers to develop innovative designs and assess packaging
  • 8Present technical strategy and progress to senior management at gateway reviews

Requirements8

  • 15+ years in thermal systems design for ICE and electric vehicles
  • 2MS in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering required, PhD preferred
  • 3Deep knowledge of coolant and refrigerant subsystems
  • 4Experience leading complex cross-functional project teams
  • 5Proficiency with ATI Vision, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and thermal simulation tools
  • 6Working knowledge of TeamCenter for component review
  • 7Familiarity with Ford Research QOS process
  • 8Strong communication skills for executive-level updates
