What You'll Do10
- 1Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and rich learning environment per FACES standards, ensuring daily readiness for discovery.
- 2Guide children's growth across key developmental areas, using age-appropriate positive guidance to model respectful behavior.
- 3Build strong teacher-child interactions and peer relationships, fostering a classroom culture of empathy and cooperation.
- 4Maintain CCL compliance, monitoring teacher-child ratios to guarantee safety and regulatory adherence.
- 5Collaborate with the teaching team to design and deliver lessons tailored to children's developmental milestones.
- 6Complete weekly developmental observations and DRDP assessments, documenting progress for individualized support.
- 7Create and sustain positive family relationships, communicating daily with caregivers about their child's milestones and day.
- 8Support the lead teacher in preparing for and conducting parent-teacher conferences, ensuring productive dialogues.
- 9Align classroom practices with FACES values, embedding equity and inclusion in everyday interactions.
- 10Flexibly support other classrooms or sites as needed, thriving in a dynamic team environment.
Requirements9
- 1Hold a California Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher, validating your expertise in early childhood education.
- 2Completion of an infant/toddler development class with a grade of C or better, demonstrating specialized knowledge.
- 32+ years of classroom experience in an ECE setting, with a preference for proven ability in diverse environments.
- 4Demonstrate a deep commitment to working with families from marginalized communities, showing cultural humility.
- 5Use effective and compassionate communication, bridging gaps with families and colleagues alike.
- 6Work cooperatively as part of an interdisciplinary team, contributing to shared goals and outcomes.
- 7Meet all state, federal, local, and CDC standards, including fingerprint clearance, negative TB test, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
- 8Lift up to 50lbs, ensuring physical readiness for classroom and playground activities.
