Overview
You will prepare accurate tax returns at a local H&R Block office, working directly with clients to gather information and answer questions. No prior tax experience is required, as you will receive 2+ weeks of paid training and ongoing support from experienced teammates. You will join a collaborative team of 40+ associates serving thousands of clients each season. What You'll Do7
- 1Prepare complete and accurate tax returns for 50-100 clients per season, using H&R Block software and training.
- 2Gather client financial data and identify deductions using AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT.
- 3Explain tax outcomes and recommend H&R Block products and services to meet client needs.
- 4Analyze unique tax situations and resolve issues with guidance from senior staff.
- 5Manage client appointments and follow-up calls, maintaining a 98% client satisfaction score.
- 6Support office operations during peak periods, working evenings and weekends as needed.
- 7Complete ongoing training to earn H&R Block Income Tax Course certification.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or GED.
- 2Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course.
- 31+ year of customer service experience in a retail or office setting.
- 4Strong communication skills, including active listening and clear explanation of complex topics.
- 5Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- 6Ability to work 15-35 hours per week, with 40 hours available during peak season.
- 7Availability to work evenings and weekends from January through April.
- 8Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 9Preferred: Experience in financial services, insurance, or retail sales.
