Surety Bond Account Manager, Miami Insurance
Overview
You own the end-to-end surety bond process for commercial clients across Florida, managing $2M+ in annual bond volume. You handle bid and final bonds, financial file maintenance, and premium audits while working directly with clients, advisors, and surety carriers. You operate in a fast-paced, high-accuracy environment where attention to detail directly impacts client trust and carrier relationships. This role stands out for its hands-on involvement with complex surety bonds and its requirement for a Florida Property & Casualty license.
What You'll Do10
- 1Maintain and update client financial and bond files, ensuring data accuracy across Surety systems.
- 2Receive, review, and dispatch correspondence promptly, prioritizing urgent bond requests.
- 3Review contracts and bond forms to extract relevant information for bid and final bond preparation.
- 4Prepare bid and final bonds, verifying accuracy against source documents.
- 5Keep clients updated on request status through proactive communication.
- 6Process final close-outs for premium audits by reconciling bond activity.
- 7Manage billing and accounts receivable follow-up for bond services.
- 8Liaise with surety companies and clients to maintain relationships and resolve issues.
- 9Draft and send routine correspondence, both paper and electronic, and prepare overnight packages.
- 10Provide administrative support to client advisors and team members as needed.
Requirements10
- 12+ years of prior experience in surety bonds required.
- 2Florida Property & Casualty insurance license required.
- 3High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- 4Bookkeeping or accounting/banking/insurance experience preferred.
- 5Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- 6Strong proofreading and attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- 7Ability to read and interpret insurance policies, contract requirements, and agency workflows.
- 8Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, including active listening and problem-solving.
- 9Excellent time management and prioritization skills with the ability to multitask.
- 10Ability to use discretion with sensitive information and maintain a professional demeanor.
