Supplier Engineer III, Semiconductor Cleaning
Overview
As a Supplier Engineer III, you will own supplier technical quality and process improvement for semiconductor parts cleaning, impacting cost and lead time across the entire supply chain. You will work with best known methods, clean parts, and engineering drawings to drive systemic resolutions at the process level. Collaborating with Surface Tech, Quality, and procurement teams, you will evaluate supplier capabilities and lead audits to ensure competitive advantage. This role offers the chance to train other engineers on audit processes and shape the supply base for a global materials engineering leader.
What You'll Do8
- 1Define parts cleaning solutions with suppliers to cut costs, reduce lead times, and extend part life, using best known methods.
- 2Evaluate engineering drawing requirements with Surface Tech and Quality teams to ensure supplier clarity and alignment.
- 3Lead the Supplier Selection Process to build a supply base with superior quality, cost, and delivery.
- 4Conduct supplier technical audits and drive continuous improvement at supplier sites.
- 5Train other supplier engineers on audit and evaluation methods.
- 6Collaborate with Quality to resolve quality issues and oversee supplier corrective actions.
- 7Identify systemic supplier problems at the process level and implement broad fixes.
- 8Monitor cost drivers and supply markets to assist in cost planning and maintain competitive advantage.
Requirements6
- 110-20 years working in the semiconductor industry or parts manufacturing/cleaning.
- 2Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemistry, mechanical, materials, or related engineering.
- 3Proven communication and influence skills with successful project experience in product introduction, Lean, or quality upgrades.
- 4Strong integrity and IP awareness to protect Applied's interests at supplier sites.
- 5Willingness to travel domestically 50% of the time.
- 6Knowledge and successful experience with automation and AI is a plus.
