Substitute Teacher Oakland K-12 Flexible Schedule
Overview
As a K-12 Substitute Teacher in Oakland, you own your classroom schedule and daily impact across charter, private, and district schools. The Education Team places you in TK through 12th grade, general and special education, with roles available Monday through Friday. You set your availability at minimum 2 days per week, earning $24-$28 per hour with weekly pay and bonus potential. This role stands out for its fast-tracked permit support and direct W-2 employment, no 1099 surprises.
What You'll Do8
- 1Follow provided lesson plans to lead classroom instruction from start to finish.
- 2Support students with daily academic activities, ensuring continuity in learning.
- 3Maintain a positive, safe learning environment that encourages student engagement.
- 4Communicate effectively with school staff, including teachers and administrators.
- 5Adapt quickly to various school sites, grade levels, and classroom settings.
- 6Manage classroom behavior and routines according to school policies.
- 7Deliver clear explanations of subject matter, from math to literacy, as outlined.
- 8Build rapport with students to foster a productive day of learning.
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor's Degree required
- 2CBEST or 30-Day Substitute Permit (preferred, but The Education Team can help you obtain)
- 3Single-Subject Credential in any subject, preliminary welcomed
- 4Multiple-Subject Credential, preliminary welcomed
- 5Education Specialist Credential in SPED (M/M, MS, VI, AASE), preliminary welcomed
- 6Availability for a minimum of 2 days per week, Monday through Friday
- 7Ability to work onsite in Oakland and surrounding areas
