STEM Coding Instructor Job Detroit | Teach Python & Scratch
Overview
You will teach K-9 students the fundamentals of computer science using the iCode curriculum. You will manage a classroom of up to 15 students, delivering hands-on lessons in Scratch, HTML, and Python while fostering a fun and supportive environment. You will report weekly on student progress and communicate with parents, gaining real teaching experience. This role stands out for its focus on developing your leadership and communication skills with full training provided.
What You'll Do6
- 1Teach K-9 students the iCode curriculum, covering Scratch, HTML, and Python.
- 2Manage a classroom of up to 20 students, ensuring safety and engagement during each session.
- 3Deliver weekly status reports on student progress and class material to the program coordinator.
- 4Communicate with parents via phone and email, updating them on student performance and program details.
- 5Support marketing events, including workshops and community outreach, to promote STEM enrollment.
- 6Handle inbound and outbound calls, answering inquiries and assisting with student enrollment.
Requirements8
- 1High school senior or college student status.
- 2Interest or experience in robotics, gaming, coding, or digital arts.
- 3Ability to work with students from Kindergarten through 9th grade.
- 4Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
- 5Experience with computing languages such as Scratch, HTML, or Python.
- 6Tutoring or student teaching experience in a camp or educational setting.
- 7Comfort communicating with parents and handling inbound/outbound calls.
- 8Interest or experience in marketing, community engagement, or promotions.
Salary Insight
