Staff Software Engineer Multi-Robot Coordination Nimble Robotics
Overview
Design and develop production-level software systems for robot coordination and integrate with enterprise systems. Build and maintain integrations with robot platforms and warehouse management APIs. Improve reliability and scalability through testing and observability. Lead technical discussions and mentor engineers. This role drives high-impact outcomes within the first 90 days while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and develop well-architected production-level software systems for robot coordination and multi-robot simulations
- 2Build and maintain integrations with robot platforms and warehouse management systems APIs
- 3Improve reliability and scalability through robust testing and performance tuning
- 4Triage field issues and drive necessary fleet software changes based on analysis
- 5Participate in design reviews and mentor engineers on technical standards
- 6Lead technical planning sessions and coordinate cross-functional efforts
- 7Own and ship critical components of the robot orchestration platform
- 8Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention in warehouse operations
- 9Collaborate with ML engineers to integrate perception systems with control software
- 10Implement observability solutions for real-time monitoring of robotic fleets
- 11Champion best practices in CI/CD and distributed system design
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2At least 6 years of production software development experience in C++ Python or Rust
- 3Proven experience with distributed systems and backend services
- 4Demonstrated knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes platforms
- 5Experience designing scalable systems and leading complex technical projects
- 6Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration
- 7Ability to analyze operational data and influence high-stakes decisions
- 8Familiarity with containerization and cloud-native architectures
- 9Experience with version control and code review processes
