Sr. Performance Test Engineer, LoadRunner & GCP
Overview
Own performance engineering for a cloud-native platform at Crowdplum, scaling to millions of transactions. You will design and execute load tests with LoadRunner, analyze bottlenecks across GKE and Cloud Run, and deliver tuning recommendations that cut latency by 30%. Your stack includes Google Cloud Platform, Dynatrace, and AppDynamics. This role drives performance from architecture to production, setting the bar for reliability.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build load models from user journeys and business volumes, then script with LoadRunner for peak-season scenarios.
- 2Drive performance tests on GKE and Cloud Run, isolating issues in app, database, and infrastructure layers.
- 3Use Dynatrace and AppDynamics to trace transactions and identify latency hotspots across microservices.
- 4Scale test environments on Google Cloud Platform with Compute Engine and Pub/Sub, ensuring realistic traffic.
- 5Ship monthly performance reports with metrics and tuning recommendations for engineering and leadership.
- 6Partner with developers to optimize queries, caching, and async processing, reducing CPU and memory usage.
- 7Automate regression tests in CI/CD to catch performance degradations before release.
- 8Lead root-cause analysis for performance incidents, delivering actionable fixes within 48 hours.
Requirements8
- 110+ years in performance testing and engineering, with 5+ years on LoadRunner or equivalents.
- 23+ years on Google Cloud Platform, including GKE, Cloud Run, and Compute Engine.
- 3Hands-on with Dynatrace or AppDynamics for APM and distributed tracing.
- 4Deep knowledge of workload modeling, scaling strategies, and performance tuning for web and API layers.
- 5Strong SQL and database tuning skills, with experience in PostgreSQL or Cloud Spanner.
- 6Scripting in Python or JavaScript for test automation and data generation.
- 7Experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments in production.
- 8Familiar with Pub/Sub and event-driven architectures for high-throughput systems.
